Sarah McLachlan Music Outreach

One of the many reasons that Sarah McLachlan is my role-model is because she uses her popularity as a platform. Where some celebrities are making a joke out of themselves, Sarah uses her fame and fortune to make something fantastic.

Sarah opened Sarah McLachlan Music Outreach (SMMO) in 2002. SMMO is a foundation that offers the inner city youth of Vancouver, Canada a music education for free. It was founded in response to music being cut from several school programs due to funding. It is very inspiring to me that Sarah took action against something she thought was wrong.

I chose Sarah McLachlan as my role model because she is a spectacular musician who inspired me to want to be just like her when i grew up :)

The first chord of this song always gives me chills. If i find a song like that, I hold onto it.
